About my art
Do you long for the serenity of the coast? Wish you could smell the salt air and feel the sand in your toes? - Me too! I am excited every day to paint something new and different; usually of tropical or coastal settings and critters. I enjoy painting realistic subjects that when paired with whimsical settings or situations, can only be found in one's imagination. Blue crabs stealing treasure or an Iguana resting on a rusting conquistador helmet are just some examples of the fun art I create.
As a former US Navy Submariner, I used to marvel at the interaction of humankind and nature. Years ago, I was stationed in a small inlet in Scotland and was fascinated to see the juxtaposition of a modern nuclear submarine cast against the backdrop of ancient rolling Scottish hillsides. This experience and others like it have motivated my art - I especially like to depict scenes that hint at the presence of Humankind in nature (or vice versa) and how the indomitable spirit of nature always shines through. Vivid colors and subject detail are hallmarks of my work.
